Location of the department

The Department of Animal Physiology is located on the 1st floor of the Biosciences building at Albert-Einstein-Str. 3, 18059 Rostock. It is somewhat hidden and behind the lecture hall. If you enter the building through the main entrance, turn left and take the stairs up. Laboratory rooms and offices are located on the first floor and the basement of the building. You may reach us,

by train

You may reach Rostock main station by train from Hamburg or Berlin. The fastest connection takes approximately 1,5 hours from Hamburg (ICE train) and 2,5 hours from Berlin (IC train). There is a direct connection from Berlin Airport to Rostock main station but no fast ICE train connection from Berlin. From Rostock main station you may walk (15-20 min), take a taxi (5 min), or the tram (10 min) to the Biosciences building.

by air plane

Rostock/Laage airport is located approximately 20 min south of Rostock. Besides charter flights, there are flights only from Munich to Rostock operated by Lufthansa. From the airport take the shuttle bus (~12Euro) to Rostock main train station or a taxi to the university (~50Euro). Alternatively, you may fly into Hamburg or Berlin and take the train. It takes approximately 6-7 hours by train from Frankfurt airport to Rostock.

by car

From Hamburg it takes approximately 2 hours by car. Take the "Ostsee Autobahn" and leave at exit "Rostock". From Berlin take the A19 and leave after approximately 2 hours driving at exit "Rostock-Süd".
